Men's Lacrosse Falls Short of Pirates in Texas

CONWAY, Ark. - Hendrix men's lacrosse hit the road to Georgetown, Texas Saturday to take on Southwestern (Texas) in the first road game of the young season. Hendrix scored two man-up goals in the first nine minutes courtesy of Max Lynch and Brendan Rolland but the Pirates scored four straight to hold the 4-2 advantage late in the first period. Hendrix pulled within three, 9-6, at the half but Southwestern outscored Hendrix 6-2 in the final 30 minutes of action to record the 15-8 win over Hendrix.

OF NOTE:
- Max Lynch and Brendan Rolland scored back-to-back man-up goals in the first eight-plus minutes to give the Warriors the early 2-0 edge.
- After a 4-0 Pirate run, Spencer Dorfneilsen found Alec Davis for a score as the Warriors trailed by one, 4-3, with 3:38 left in the first quarter.
- Southwestern encountered on another 4-0 run before Elias Ramos and Max Lynch scored back-to-back goals midway through the second period.
- Max Lynch found Spencer Dorfneilsen on a man-up play late in the first half to bring Hendrix within three, 9-6, with two minutes left in the half.
- After not scoring any goals in the third period, Davis scored again late in the fourth, as did Dorfneilsen on another man-up play but the Warriors fell, 15-8.

BOX SCORE NOTABLE:
- Dorfneilsen and Davis recorded four points each on two goals and two assists while M. Lynch recorded three points on two goals and an assist.
- Dorfneilsen accounted for a team-high six shots and four shots on goal with one ground ball.
- Marshall Gregg carded a career-best and team-best four ground balls Saturday while also registering one caused turnover.
- Patrick Dellinger, Elias Ramos and Brandon Barnes also accounted for three ground balls each Saturday.
- Ramos went 7-for-21 on faceoff attempts against the Pirates.
- Patrick Adamo registered 18 saves in all 60 minutes of work Saturday.
