Seth Stanley scored a season-high 20 points for Hendrix on Saturday, but Berry (Ga.) used a plus-18 margin in the first 20 minutes to earn a 72-56 Southern Athletic Association (SAA) win on Saturday inside the Cage Center in the second matchup between the two teams in less than 24 hours.
Michael Johnson scored 18 points for Berry (4-0, 4-0 SAA). Micah Johnson had a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Chase Ellis contributed 13 points.
The Vikings shot 46.4Â percent (26-of-56) overall but in the first 20 minutes connected on a 56.7 percent (17-of-30) clip from the floor, 5-of-9 from deep and 5-of-7 from the stripe. Berry was 8-of-13 from the free throw line in the second half and finished 13-of-20.
Stanley was 7-of-8 from the charity stripe to go along with seven rebounds.
Carl Fitch added 10 points on 4-of-6 shooting inside the arc plus eight boards and two blocks. Four of Fitch's rebounds came on the offensive glass, where the Orange and Black tallied 13 second chance points.
Hendrix (1-3, 1-3 SAA) shot 33.3 percent (19-of-57) overall and 12-of-16 from the free throw line. From the stripe,
Thad McCracken's bunch was 5-of-6 in the first half and 7-of-10 in the second. Half (23) of the team's scoring came from its reserves.
