SAINT LOUIS - No. 20 Washington (Mo.) defeated Hendrix, 80-46, on Friday inside the Field House on the first day of the 37th annual Lopata Classic, hosted by the Bears. The Warriors lost for the first time in three true road games this season.
Jack Nolan went for 22 points on 9-of-15 shooting to go along with six rebounds for Washington (6-1). Kevin Davet ended with 14 points on 6-of-9 shooting inside the arc. Justin Hardy pulled down nine rebounds.
The Bears shot 46 percent (29-of-63) overall, 26.1 percent (6-of-23) from 3-point range and 16-of-24 from the free throw line.
Sean Coman and
Jackson Parks each totaled nine points for Hendrix (6-2). Coman also grabbed seven boards.
Seth Stanley, the winner of the last two Southern Athletic Association Player of the Week awards, recorded eight points.Â
The Warriors shot 33.3 percent (16-of-48) overall and 13-of-21 from the charity stripe, including a 7-of-8 effort by Parks.
Hendrix faces Hope (Mich.) in the consolation game of the tournament Saturday at 1:30 p.m. CT.
