Jenkins scores season-high 19 on Senior Night

CONWAY, Ark. - Kessie Jenkins scored a season-high 19 points Saturday, but Rhodes (Tenn.) used a 26-13 run to start the game to earn an 83-65 win over Hendrix inside Grove Gymnasium in the second Southern Athletic Association (SAA) game between the two teams in a 24-hour span.

Kiera Downey scored 23 points on 8-of-15 shooting for Rhodes (8-3, 8-3 SAA). Alli Mayeux had a double-double with 13 points and 14 rebounds. Catherine Althoff scored 10 points.

The Lynx shot 38.2 percent (29-of-76) overall, 24 percent (6-of-25) from 3 and 19-of-26 from the free throw line.

Jenkins shot 7-of-20 from the floor and 3-of-6 from the charity stripe to go along with eight rebounds.

Madi Pierce recorded a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds for Hendrix (0-10, 0-10 SAA). Pierce was 5-of-7 from the field, 2-of-3 from deep and 4-of-5 from the line. Kennedi Burns added 10 points, including a perfect 4-of-4 effort from the stripe, and six rebounds. Cassidy Salyer contributed nine points on three made triples. Caroline Wendt had seven boards. 

The Warriors shot 31.3 percent (21-of-67) overall, 29.6 percent (8-of-27) from beyond the arc and 15-of-22 from the free throw line.

The games against Rhodes moved to Conway after inclement weather battered Memphis, Tenn., during the previous week.

Hendrix concludes its season with two rescheduled games against Centre (Ky.). Tip-off inside Grove Gymnasium on March 5 is set for 6 p.m. CT, while the March 6 contest begins at 1 p.m.
