CONWAY, Ark. - Oglethorpe (Ga.), ranked seventh in the latest D3Hoops.com Top 10, defeated Hendrix 86-55 on Friday in Southern Athletic Association (SAA) play inside Grove Gymnasium in the first of two matchups between the teams in less than 24 hours.
Savannah LeGate scored 13 points on 5-of-9 shooting inside the arc to lead three Oglethorpe (5-0, 5-0 SAA) players in double figures. Reyna Buggs added 12 and was 6-of-6 from the free throw line, while Omotese Ajorgbor had 10 points on a 4-of-5 clip inside the 3-point line.
LeGate also pulled down seven rebounds.
The Stormy Petrels shot 41.3 percent (31-of-75) overall, 31.6 percent (6-of-19) from 3 and 18-of-27 from the free throw line.
Anissa Gutierrez tallied game-highs in points (15) and assists (5)Â for Hendrix (0-5, 0-5 SAA).
Kennedi Burns finished with nine points, while
Kessie Jenkins totaled seven to go along with six boards.
Isis Woods and
Madi Pierce each had a pair of steals for
Drew Gaeng's unit.
The Warriors tallied an assist on their first 13 made field goals and finished with 14 on 16 made baskets (16-of-57). The Orange and Black shot 15-of-22 from the charity stripe.
