BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Birmingham-Southern (Ala.) defeated Hendrix, 1-0, on Saturday in the Southern Athletic Association (SAA) opener for both teams at Goldfarb Field. 

Sydney Barrow (2) scored the game's lone goal in the 75th minute off an assist from Bailey Gardner. 

Abby Walker finished with five shots for Birmingham-Southern (6-1, 1-0 SAA).

Blakley Jones (6-1) made five saves in goal for the Panthers.

Sydnee Pritchett tallied two shots on goal for Hendrix (1-1, 0-1 SAA).

Reigning SAA Defensive Player of the Week Anna Claire Lewis made five stops between the pipes for the Warriors.

Hendrix hosts Millsaps (Miss.) on March 20. Kickoff from Warrior Soccer Field is set for noon CT.
