CONWAY, Ark. - UR/No. 25 Hendrix lost the final two of a four-game Southern Athletic Association series Saturday with UR/RV Rhodes (Tenn.) at Warrior Baseball Field. The Lynx won the first game 5-3 in nine innings and the second contest 14-7.
In game one, Paul Giacomazzi batted 3-for-4 with two runs scored for Rhodes. Peter York drove in three runs.
Alex Garrett (3-3) picked up the win on the mound with an inning of scoreless relief with two walks. John Gibbs (1) threw 1.2 innings of one-hit ball with two strikeouts for the save.
Tom Flisk batted 2-for-2 with a pair of RBIs for Hendrix.Â
Zach Marriott also drove in a run.
David Blackburn (1-1) suffered the loss, pitching four innings of relief, allowing three earned runs on as many hits with four strikeouts and three walks.
Kyle Wellman made the start but took a no decision, going five innings, surrendering two earned runs on five hits with six strikeouts and four walks.
In game two, Chris Penna batted 5-for-5 with two RBIs and two runs scored for Rhodes (13-10, 9-7 SAA). Giacomazzi scored three times.
Nick Ferazzi (4-1) pitched 5.1 innings for the win, allowing three runs, two earned, on seven hits with five strikeouts and a walk.
