SHERMAN, Texas - Sul Ross State (Texas) defeated Hendrix, 1-0, on Friday in the first game of the Austin (Texas) Tournament at Dr. Jack R. Pierce Memorial Soccer Complex.

David Gallegos scored in the 83rd minute off an assist from Luis Gonzalez.

Six Sul Ross State (2-0) players had three shots apiece.

Alexis Tellez (2-0) made one save in 90 minutes between the pipes for the Lobos.

Zack Roberts had five shots, including two on goal, for Hendrix (0-2-1).

James Leone (0-1) made six saves in 90 minutes in net for the Warriors.

The Warriors face the tournament-host 'Roos on Sept. 12 to conclude play in the Austin Tournament. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. CT.
