CONWAY, Ark. - Hendrix swept Sewanee (Tenn.) on Saturday inside Grove Gymnasium in the Southern Athletic Association (SAA) opener for both teams. The Warriors won their third-straight match against the Tigers by scores of 25-21, 25-21 and 25-18 to improve to 15-4 all-time in the series.

The Warriors' Brittany Newberry picked up her 50th-career win.

Sadie Walker paced Hendrix (4-4, 1-0 SAA) offensively with 11 kills and a 0.346 hitting percentage. Reigning SAA Defensive Player of the Week Sam Friedl came up with 14 digs and Camryn Presley 10. Claire Smith dished out 16 assists, while Kyler Greenlee recorded 15.

Anna Ball and Lilly Reilly each had 14 digs for Sewanee (3-3, 0-1 SAA), while Adele Cassidy came up with 12. Kaylee Scharfman netted 25 assists.

The Warriors continue league play Sept. 19 at home against Centre (Ky.) at noon CT.
