Rasberry Jr. records first double-double

CONWAY, Ark. - Centre (Ky.) defeated Hendrix, 68-62, on Friday in Southern Athletic Association (SAA) action inside Grove Gymnasium. The Warriors lost to the Colonels on Garrison Court for the first time in the last three meetings and only the fifth time in the last 26 outings against all opponents.

Dustin Gerald scored 15 points for Centre (9-6, 3-2 SAA). R.J. Smith had a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Marshall Taylor also recorded 13 points.

The Colonels shot 49 percent (25-of-51) overall, 33.3 percent (5-of-15) from 3 and 59.1 percent (13-of-22) from the free throw line.

Darvis Rasberry Jr. finished with his first double-double for Hendrix (10-7, 3-3 SAA) after tallying season-highs in points (16) and rebounds (10). He shot 6-of-12 inside the arc.

Sean Coman added 14 points for the Warriors and Seth Stanley 11. Coman shot 5-of-10 overall, including 4-of-9 from beyond the arc. Stanley was 4-of-8 from the floor, going 3-of-7 from distance.

Jack Eaton dished out a career-high six assists for the Orange and Black, which totaled 15 on 24 made field goals.

Hendrix shot 45.3 percent (24-of-53) overall and 33.3 percent (9-of-27) from 3-point range. 

Each team had nine offensive rebounds.

The Warriors eye their third-straight win in the series and inside Grove Gymnasium against Sewanee (Tenn.) on Sunday. Tip-off is set for 3 p.m. CT.
