BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - RV/RV Hendrix split the first two of a three-game series against No. 2/2 Birmingham-Southern (Ala.) on Saturday in Southern Athletic Association (SAA) action at Striplin Field. The Warriors lost game one, 11-4, but rebounded for a 6-4 win in game two.
Hendrix (22-6, 7-4 SAA) improved to 8-2 in road games.
In game one, Cole Steadman batted 3-for-5 with two RBIs and a run scored for the Panthers.Â
Connor Adams (1-1) threw 1.1 innings of relief for Birmingham-Southern (20-7, 8-3 SAA), allowing just two hits.

Zach Marriott,
Drake Job and
Rally Miller each had two hits for the Warriors.
Hogan Ralston drew three walks. Marriott and Job each scored twice.
Hendrix's
Ethan Thomas (0-1) allowed eight earned runs on as many hits with two strikeouts and as many walks in 2.2 innings out of the bullpen.
In game two, Marriott was 2-for-3 at the plate with a RBI. Miller and
Adam Bland each drove in two. Miller and
Jacob Carpentier each scored twice. Miller walked twice.
Jack Hodgins (7-1) picked up the win on the mound for the Warriors, allowing four runs, two earned, on five hits with nine strikeouts and four walks in 6.1 innings.
John Henry Fowler (4) earned the save with 0.2 innings of hitless relief with a walk.
The triumph snapped a five-game win streak by the Panthers against Division III schools, including four-consecutive at home.
Andrew Dutton was 2-for-3 with a RBI and run scored in the loss.
Ricky Harrison (2-3) pitched five innings in defeat, giving up four runs, two earned, on three hits with four strikeouts and three walks and a hit batter.
