CONWAY, Ark. - This past week, the Warriors dropped their second game of the season to the East Texas Baptist Tigers and picked up another win against the Lyon College Scots.
On Tuesday night, the Warriors hosted East Texas Baptist University. The teams were pretty evenly matched with both teams taking a couple of shots on goal early in the game. Around the 25-minute mark, the Tigers kicked up their intensity and scored their first and only goal of the game in the 29th minute. Following that goal, the Warriors didn't really have an offensive chance, as the Tigers' momentum kept picking up both on and off the ball. In the final 10 minutes of the second half, the Warriors picked up their pace and intensity to try and tie up the game, having a few great offensive plays and shots. However, with only 10 minutes to try and even the scoreboard, the Warriors just didn't have the time and number of chances that the Tigers had throughout the game, and the game ended a few seconds after Sydney Wagner's upper 90 shot was saved.
Following the game, Coach Trimble said "I felt like we had two even teams. I give full credit to East Texas Baptists, they took advantage of the opportunity and created others. With two teams so close to each other, the team to take advantage of the opportunity obviously will get the good result".

The next night, the Warriors hosted the Lyon College Scots. Morgan Boltadono got her second collegiate start, splitting the time in goal with Elle Draper. A few freshman Warriors also got their first collegiate start, including outside back Ella Kelly. The Warriors quickly began their attack, with Emily Seymour scoring in the 2nd minute of the game. Following the goal, the Warriors' momentum picked up even more with Emily Seymour taking a few more shots, Madison Lampkin adding a few, and Sydnee Pritchett taking one shot on goal before scoring the second goal of the game in the 21st minute with an assist from Emily Seymour. After those goals, Coach Jeff Trimble began cycling in the rest of the team, with all healthy players eventually getting a chance to play in the game. At halftime the Warriors were up 2-0, having taken 12 shots, three corners, and giving up zero shots.
Coming into the second half, the Warriors once again came out with intensity, taking four shots in the first five minutes. The Warriors continued to create great opportunities and have multiple shots on goal, even as new players cycled into the game. After taking 14 shots in the second half, Jamisen Geoffrion was able to put one away for the Orange and Black in the 84th minute off of the 13th corner kick of the night. The game ended with the Warriors only giving up 2 shots on the night, while taking 27 of their own.Â
While the Warriors put up a great offensive effort, the defense for the Warriors aided by the speed and effort of Brianna Willis, Kaitlyn Wharton, Finley Baber, Ella Kelly, Ava Szczygiel, Kelsey Korte, and Alli Sullivan helped the Warriors only give up two shots on the evening.Â
Coach Jeff Trimble said "It was great to get back in the win column. I also really enjoyed the fact we were able to play all of our players. These girls have been working very hard and to allow them to experience a game on our field was great to see. I thought we had three really good goals and I appreciate how hard the defenders and goalkeepers worked. We look forward to this weekend."
