Conway, Ark. - The Hendrix Warriors fell to top-ranked Berry 80-59 in the Southern Athletic Association (SAA) on Friday night. The loss drops the Warriors to 2-4 in conference play.
Berry jumped out to an 8-0 lead early and never looked back, leading by as many as 20 in the first half. The Warriors would claw their way back and cut the deficit to 9 points, but Berry's prolific outside shooting proved to be too much in the end.
A bright spot for the Warriors was
Colten Berry. The freshman big man was dominant down low all night, tallying a career-high 24 points to go along with 8 boards.
Caleb Squires also finished in double figures with 11 points.
The Warriors shot 48.1% from the field but were just 1-11 from behind the arc.
Hendrix is back in action this Sunday versus the Oglethorpe Stormy Petrals. Tip-off will immediately follow the women's game(12:00 PM CT) from Grove Gymnasium.
