Conway, Ark. - Hendrix dropped its Sunday matinee to Oglethorpe on Sunday. The loss means the Warriors fall to 2-5 in the Southern Athletic Association (SAA).
Madi Pierce led all scorers with 24 points. Her jumper early in the third quarter tied the affair at 33-33, but an ensuing Stormy Petral run saw the Warriors trail by 7 heading into the final quarter of play. The lead would prove to be too much in the end for Hendrix to come back from.
Simone Shields finished the afternoon with 11 points.
Blysse Harmon contributed 9 points and 3 boards, knocking down 7 of 8 free throws. The senior fouled out midway through the fourth quarter.
Hendrix shot 36.7% fromt the field and converted 24 of 32 attempts from the stripe.
The Warriors hit the road to Mount Berry, Ga. to face the Berry Vikings on Friday, Jan. 27. Tip-off is set for 5:00 PM CT from the Cage Center.
