Batesville, Ark. - The Hendrix Warriors fell 84-66 to the Lyon Scots on Thursday night at Becknell Gymnasium.
The two teams traded points to begin the contest, with
Colten Berry's slammed finish at the 12:48 mark in the first half tying the score at 11-11.
Lyon subsequently went on a 16-0 run to take a 27-11 before
Daniel Cobb stopped the bleeding with a three-pointer. Hendrix would only register one more field goal in the first half, with
Tyler Deithloff nailing a long ball to cut another Lyon run to 5.
The Warriors would trail 37-17 at the break, and that proved too much to overcome. The Scots led by as many as 27 early in the second half and never looked back en route to a dominating win.
Tyler Deithloff led the Warriors with 13 points.
Houston Likens backed that up with a career-high 12 points off the bench.
Colten Berry also finished in double-figures with 10 points and 6 boards.
The loss drops Hendrix to 1-5 on the season, and they now return home for an early start to conference play versus Rhodes. Tip-off is set for 1:00 PM Saturday at Grove Gymnasium.
