Conway, Ark. - A week after being named to the USILA Team of the Week, Spencer Dorfnielsen and
Maximus LaMendola picked up where they left off, each totaling 6 points on Saturday afternoon versus Southwestern.
The Pirates raced out to a 5-2 lead and led by as many as four in the first half. Tommy Saueressig's unassisted goal gave Southwestern a 8-4 lead with 6:49 to play in the second quarter, but Hendrix stormed back to score the last three goals of the half to cut the lead to one.
Southwestern dominated the third quarter, outscoring the Warriors 6-1. That would prove to be enough for the Pirates, as they ended the day 18-12 winners.
Dorfneilsen led the Warriors in scoring with 4 goals, with LaMendola netting 3 goals.
The Warrior defense held the Pirates at bay during their only man-up opportunity of the afternoon, but the Warriors could only manage one goal on six man-up opportunities.
Hendrix now heads to Demorest, Ga. on their first road trip of the season for a pair of games with Piedmont and Bridgewater.
