Rome, Ga. - Hendrix hit the road to Georgia to open up Southern Athletic Association (SAA) play with the Berry Vikings on Friday night.
The Warriors netted the game's opening two goals via
Spencer Dorfneilsen, but a 12-4 Berry run, including four unanswered goals midway through the second quarter, would give the Vikings a 12-6 lead at the halftime interval.
3rd-quarter goals from
Klaus Rowan and Dorfneilsen kept the game tight enough heading into the final quarter of play. Hendrix would net five goals in the 4th courtesy of
Austin Williams (2),
Maximus LaMendola,
Patrick Richard, and Dorfneilsen, but Berry's offense did just enough to keep the Warriors at bay.
Hendrix now heads to Atlanta for a Sunday SAA tilt with the Oglethorpe Stormy Petrals.
