Atlanta, Ga. - Two days after getting roughed up by Berry, Hendrix traveled to Oglethorpe seeking their first Southern Athletic Association (SAA) win on the year.
The Warriors fell behind 3-0 in the first quarter but responded with goals from
Max Vogelbacher and
Klaus Rowan to cut the deficit to one.
The two sides would trade goals early in the second quarter to make it 4-3 to the Stormy Petrals after a
Maximus LaMendola goal.
Oglethorpe would score three unanswered to up their lead to four early in the second half, but the rest of the afternoon would belong to the Warriors. Hendrix would outscore Oglethorpe 8-4 in the third quarter to enter the final quarter of play with an 11-9 advantage, thanks to goals from
Spencer Dorfneilsen, LaMendola, and
Patrick Richard.
The Stormy Petrals would go level 12-12 with 6:10 left to play, but three unanswered goals from Rowan, Vogelbacher, and LaMendola sealed the win for the Warriors.
LaMendola led all scorers with 6 goals, ending the afternoon with 9 total points.
The Warriors now return to Conway for conference ties with Sewanee and Centre as they seek to further their standing in the SAA with the meat of the schedule ahead.
