Conway, Ark. - Hendrix hosted the Sewanee Tigers under the lights of Young-Wise Memorial Stadium for a Friday night Southern Athletic Association (SAA) tilt, looking to keep their momentum going after a 15-13 road win versus Oglethorpe last Sunday
The Warriors rolled out to an early 2-0 lead after goals from
Spencer Dorfneilsen and
Maximus LaMendola.
Sewanee responded with six unanswered goals and would go into halftime with a 9-4 lead.
After two early second-half goals from the Tigers, Hendrix responded with two of their own via Dorfneilsen to cut the deficit to five, but another Sewanee run would put the game out of reach.
Three late LaMendola goals made the scoreline respectable, but it was not enough on the night.
Of note,
Ian Domeika broke the single-game program record for saves, recording 24 saves on 37 shots on goal. The junior goaltender had initially split the record of 22 saves with Christian Wheeler, but now owns the record outright.
The loss drops the Warriors to 1-2 in the SAA. They will welcome Centre to Conway for a noon showdown, looking to get back to winning ways.
