Clarksville, Ark.- The Warriors took on the University of the Ozarks Eagles at their park in a midweek contest Tuesday afternoon. The Warriors were dominant in all aspects of this one, scoring seventeen runs on seventeen hits while freshman pitchers Aiden Leggett and Chance Reed kept the Ozarks hitters at bay. Leggett and Reed allowed five runs on ten hits (one run and four runs respectively) while collecting five strikeouts. Chance Reed earned the win in relief, his first collegiate win. His record moves to 1-0 on the season.
At the plate, the Warriors exploded, hammering the Ozarks pitching staff for seventeen runs. A handful of Warrior hitters had stellar performances in the contest. Joseph Watts had a four-hit day at the plate, and he swiped two bags on the basepaths. Drake Job collected three hits and three RBIs. Jacob Carpentier was good for two hits, one being a double, and three RBIs. Zach Marriott and Hogan Ralston each went deep in the fourth and fifth inning, respectively. The Warriors are 3-0 on the year against Ozarks, and they will be back in action on Saturday, April 1 at home for a doubleheader against SAA opponent Centre College.
