Conway, Ark. - Hendrix hosted the Centre Colonels for a Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Saturday matinee at Young-Wise Memorial Stadium in the Warriors' penultimate home contest of the 2023 season.
Centre jumped out to an early 3-0 lead before goals from
Maximus LaMendola and
Spencer Dorfneilsen brought the Warriors' deficit to one by the end of the first quarter. It was the closest Hendrix would get for the rest of the afternoon.
The Colonels would score 5 unanswered goals to end the half, and notched another coming out of halftime to take a 9-2 lead.
Patrick Richard and
Klaus Rowan each netted goals to cut the lead to 5, but Centre responded with 5 more of their own to put the game out of reach.
The loss drops Hendrix to 1-3 in the SAA, but the Warriors remain tied with Berry and one game ahead of Oglethorpe in the conference standings in their quest to secure seeding in the SAA tournament.
The Orange and Black are back in action this Saturday as they head to Alabama for a conference tilt with the Birmingham-Southern Panthers.
