Sewanee, Tenn. - Hendrix squared off with the Sewanee Tigers to open the 2023 Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Tournament on Friday afternoon. Sewanee entered as the top seed in the SAA tournament and ranked 12th nationally, and looked the part en route to a 5-0 win over the Warriors.
Hendrix was blanked 8-0 in the No. 1 and No. 3 doubles, while
Cason Cole and
Matias Ancieta were put down 8-3 in the No. 2 doubles.
Elijah Pierce dropped the No. 2 singles round 6-1, 6-0.
Eric Meyne played a tight first set in the No. 3 singles but would eventually fall 6-4, 6-1.
Those two losses resulted in the No. 1, No. 4, No. 5, and No. 6 singles matches going unfinished.
Hendrix finishes the 2022-23 season 7-15 (0-8 SAA).
