Conway, Ark. - Hendrix hit the road for their first Southern Athletic Association (SAA) road trip of the year to take on Centre and the #10 Sewanee Tigers, with the Warriors dropping both matches 8-1.
Centre swept the doubles contest 3-0, but
Eleanor Burks got the Warriors on the board with a win in the No. 1 singles, defeating Ella Rueff 6-2, 6-1.
Josie Leffingwell came close to grabbing another win for Hendrix but fell just short, dropping the No. 5 singles match 8-7 (7-3).
Hendrix would pick up a win in the No. 3 doubles versus Sewanee, as
Eleanor Burks and
Ayden Huckelbury defeated the Madeline duo of Towning and Cummings 8-3. However, Sewanee would sweep the rest of the matches.
The Warriors return home to close out the 2023 regular season, and will host Birmingham-Southern and Millsaps this weekend at the Hatcher Tennis Center in Conway.
