Batesville, Ark. - For Coach
Jeff Trimble's side, it has been the same story for the first five games: Score a lot of goals. Do not give up any goals.
On Tuesday night, Hendrix battered Lyon College 4-0 to improve to 5-0 on the year. Their fifth consecutive win also marked the fifth consecutive clean sheet kept by the Warriors to start the season.
The Warriors wasted no time getting after Lyon, as
Emily Seymour got off the mark for 2023 by netting the game's opening goal in the 9'. Seven minutes later,
Mackenzie Sinclair put in the Warriors' second for her third goal of the season.
Hendrix went into the halftime break up two, but it did not take long for them to make it three, as
Laramie Cox scored her first of the season with under two minutes played in the second half.
Madison Lampkin claimed her third goal of the season to round out the scoring, with Seymour providing the assist.
It has been a remarkable run by the Warriors to begin the 2023 season. After Tuesday's night shutout, Hendrix claims a +13 goal differential, having not conceded a goal through its first five matches.
The Warriors will be back in action this Friday as they head to Richardson, Texas to take on the University of Texas at Dallas Comets.
