Atlanta, Ga. - The Hendrix Warriors fell 62-60 to Oglethorpe on Friday evening at Dorough Field House.
After being outscored 39-31 in the first twenty minutes of play, Hendrix came out firing in the second half and took a 42-41 lead after a
Tyler Deithloff layup with just over 14 minutes to play.
Both sides would trade baskets down the stretch. The Stormy Petrels took a 62-60 lead with under 40 seconds to play, but Hendrix was unable to convert on its opportunity to tie the game at the end.
Coming off a career-high 26 points versus East Texas Baptist last Sunday,
Daniel Cobb was at it again, leading all scorers with 21 points.
Caleb Squires and Deithloff each finished in double-figures with 15 and 10, respectively.
The Warriors shot 41.4% from the field and were a perfect 9-of-9 from the stripe while only knocking down 5-of-21 attempts from behind the arc. Oglethorpe got a massive boost from the stripe by converting 20-of-22 free throw attempts.
The loss drops Hendrix to 3-10 (0-2 SAA), and they will now head to Rome, Ga. to take on the Berry Vikings on Sunday, Tip-off is set for 3:00 PM at the Cage Center.
