Box Score Sewanee, Tenn. - Hendrix extended its conference losing streak to four with a five-set loss to Sewanee on Friday night at Juhan Gymnasium.
After dropping the first set 25-20, the Warriors battled back to win a tightly-contested second set 25-23.
The two teams went back-and-forth in the third set, and with Sewanee leading 24-22, Hendrix successfully fended off set point twice as part of a four-point run that they used to close out the third set.
The Warriors were able to fend off set point once in the fourth set with the score 24-22, but would eventually succumb 25-23 to send the match to a fifth and final set.
Sewanee led 8-5 at the switching of sides and would able to see of the match with the help of a 7-point run midway through the set.
Mariana Leite led the away side with 10 points.
Ava Burns recorded a season-high 9 kills.
Mary Addisyn Stubbs tallied a career-high 5 points off of 5 service aces.
The Warriors (8-13, 2-6 SAA) now head to Danville, Ky. for a showdown with league-leading Centre. First serve is set for 11:00 AM CT at Alumni Gymnasium.
