Warrior Golf Makes History Again

Are we even surprised at this point?

Maumelle, Ark.- The Warriors made the 30 minute drive over to Maumelle to compete in the CBC Fall Invitational at the Country Club of Arkansas golf course. The Warriors had a history making tournament on both sides, with the women placing 2nd, their highest team finish in program history while the men also placed 2nd, their best back-to-back finish in program history. The women had a total team score of 746 (372+374). The men had a total team score of 939 (317+316+306).


Oliver Naumann finished 4th, his 3rd consecutive Top 5 finish this season, shooting a total score of 226 (76+78+72), including shooting even for Round 3 to help keep him locked in the Top 5. George Murray finished T-8th, shooting 232 (80+76+76), marking the freshman's first Top 10 finish. Deqlyn Buttrey finished 13th, shooting 240 (80+82+78) for the tournament, his first Top 15 finish & the highest finish in his career. William Baker finished 14th, shooting 241 (81+80+80), marking his third consecutive Top 15 finish. Hogan Dunn competed as an Individual and finished T-15th, shooting 242 (83+78+81), his first Top 15 finish and the highest finish in his young career. Cole Jones placed 25th, shooting 258 (87+89+82), marking his first career Top 25 finish. 


It was a career day for the Women's Golf team, with everyone setting new career highs in finishes. Amber Alsup had a career day (again) placing 3rd, her highest career finish, shooting 167 (85+82). Alsup's 3rd place was the highest in women's golf history since Stephanie Leake's 4th place finish back at the Louisiana College Fall Invitational back in 2017. Caroline Teague finished 9th, her first Top 10 Finish, shooting 184 (92+92). Gianna Miceli finished 14th, her first career Top 15th Finish & highest finish in her career, shooting 194 (96+98). Ava Reyes finished 15th, her first career Top 15 finish, shooting 201 (99+102). 


Next Up for the Warriors:
The men get a week off before heading to Rome, GA to compete in the Chick-FIl-A Invitational hosted by Berry College on Oct. 21st-22nd.
