Box Score Longview, Texas - Hendrix hit the road for the first time of the 2024-25 season on Thursday evening and were able to overcome a slow start against LeTourneau to beat the Yellowjackets 66-55 at Solhem Arena.
The Warriors trailed 17-9 at the end of the first quarter but benefited from an explosive 24-point second quarter to head into halftime with a 33-28 lead. Hendrix kept their foot on the pedal in the third quarter and led by as many as 14 at the end of three. LeTourneau was able to trim the Warriors' lead to six with just over a minute to play, but that was the closest the home team would come to threatening Hendrix as
Wes Sullivan's squad hung on to improve to 3-2 on the year.
Shelby Heil led the Warriors with a season-high 14 points and was a perfect 5-5 from the field and 4-of-6 from the stripe.
Simone Shields posted 12 points and 7 rebounds to go along with 5 assists.
Brailey Forst led all participants with 12 boards.
Hendrix shot 44.4% from the field and just 22.2% from behind the arc, but were able to convert 18 of their 25 attempts from the line. They outscored LeTourneau 40-18 in the paint.
