Men's Basketball Drops Two on Texas Road Trip

Dallas, Texas - Hendrix ventured southwest for a pair on nonconference matchups versus the University of Dallas and Austin College over the weekend.

Saturday vs Dallas (L, 82-58)
The Warriors trailed 57-33 to Dallas at halftime after a high-scoring first half of play. Hendrix cut the Crusaders' lead to 20 midway through the second half on a Sky Tschurr jumper, but that would be the closest they would come to the home side in the final twenty minutes.

Tschurr led the Warriors with a season-high 16 points after going 7-of-13 from the field and 2-of-5 from 3PT. Caleb Squires finished with 9 points and shot 50% from the field. Carson Bower tallied 8 points and 2 assists.

Sunday vs Austin (L, 104-90)
Hendrix got off to a better start against Austin on Sunday and traded points with the 'Roos in the game's opening 10 minutes. With 13:44 remaining in the half, Beau Kronenberger knocked down his second three of the half to bring Austin to within 2 points. But a subsequent 12-4 run by the home team served as a launchpad for the 'Roos as they took an 11-point lead into halftime.

Colten Berry's jumper with just under 7 minutes remaining cut Austin's lead to 5 with the Warriors looking to mount a comeback. However, Austin responded with an 8-0 scoring run to take a 99-85 lead as the 'Roos created enough separating distance to comfortably close out a 104-90 win.

Six Warriors finished in double-figures, with Kronenberger leading the way with a career-high 18 points. Tyler Deithloff was one rebound and two assists away from a triple-double as he put up 16, 9, and 8 on the afternoon.

Squires finished with 14 points, Berry notched 11 points, and Bower and Tschurr each recorded 10 points.

Hendrix shot 50.8% from the field against the 'Roos and 40.0% from 3PT while knocking down 14-of-16 attempts from the stripe.

Up Next: Hendrix (1-5) will return to Arkansas for an exhibition match with Henderson State on Tuesday night, then will host Austin College next Sunday at Grove Gymnasium for a 2:00 PM tip.
