Warriors Lose 5 Set Heartbreaker on Senior Day

Conway, Ark. - Hendrix fought back from two sets down to force a fifth set against Millsaps on Sunday afternoon but ultimately fell 3-2 to the Majors.

Millsaps took the first sets with scores of 25-21 and 25-20, bringing in 24 kills. Hendrix did not go down without a fight, winning both the 3rd and 4th sets 25-19. In the final set, the Warriors found themselves down 5-14, and climbed up to 13-14 with an 8-point serving run from Hailey Gripka. Millsaps took the match 15-13 with a kill to secure the win.  

Leading in kills for Hendrix were Ana Bastos with 16 kills, Camryn Kennedy with 15 kills, and Riley Brady with 12 kills, recording the highest attack percentage of .346. Perri Evans scored 11 kills for the team.  

Mary Addisyn Stubbs and Brady recorded 19 digs each, with a team total of 71 digs for the match. Hendrix served 12 aces, with 4 from Brady, 2 from Bastos, and 2 from Faith Jones

Before the match, three seniors were honored as they played their last home game for the conference season. Catalina Williams, a middle blocker from Little Rock, contributed 121 kills during her last season as a Warrior. Eliana Oden, a defensive specialist from Searcy, recorded 114 digs total this year. Lauren Rothe, a defensive specialist from Katy, Texas recorded 70 digs for her senior season.  

Hendrix volleyball ends the conference season with 2 wins and 10 losses. The team will return to Grove Gymnasium next Saturday, November 9th, to play LeTourneau and East Texas Baptist as part of a non-conference tournament before heading into the SAA playoffs beginning November 15th.
