Nashville, Tenn. - One day after a narrow one-goal loss to Piedmont to open the season, Hendrix fell to Capital 17-10 to end their stay in the Music City.
Klaus Rowan led the Warriors with five goals. The senior is up to eight goals on the early season after netting three versus Piedmont the day before.
Maximus LaMendola and
Austin Williams each tallied two goals, while Bennett Davidsion netted his first career goal.
Nick Quarles registered a game-high four assists.
A sluggish first-half start saw the Warriors go into halftime trailing 11-3. However, after surrendering a goal early in the third quarter, Coach
Jordan Drumheller's side came out firing in the second half, scoring five unanswered to trim the deficit to four heading into the fourth quarter.
But the Warriors failed to capitalize on their momentum and continue their run as the Comets turned the tide and put five past Hendrix in the final period of play to secure the win.
The loss drops Hendrix to 0-2 on the year. They will have a couple weeks off before heading east to face LaGrange and Huntingdon at the start of March.
