Softball drops Opening SAA Series to Centre

Danville, KY- Hitting the road for the start of conference play, the Warriors would lose the series to Centre in a sweep.

Game 1 (L, 2-10)

The Warriors would open the game with the first score thanks to a RBI single by Ashlynn Fowler that would bring in Peyton Frady, but Centre would retaliate scoring 5 unanswered across the first 3 innings.

The Warriors would add a run in the 4th with Tori Maldonado reaching home thanks to a RBI FC from Betty Wolfe. Unfortunately, that would be the last the Warriors could muster, as Centre add 5 more runs in the 4th & blanking the Warriors in the 5th to end the ball game.

Ashlynn Fowler was the pitcher of record going 3 innings giving up 5 runs with 3 being earned.

Game 2 (L, 3-11)

After dropping game 1, the Warriors looked to rebound in game 2. Hendrix would open the game with an Ashlynn Fowler RBI scoring both Betty Wolfe & Paizley Vaught in the top of the first.

Tori Maldonado would cross home plate next thanks to a RBI by Rylee Harris to take a 3-0 lead. However, that would be all for the Warriors as Centre would score 11 unanswered to win 11-3.

Sadie Lewis got the start for the Warriors, going 4 innings. Betty Wolfe was the pitcher of record, going 1.1 innings surrendering 8 runs.

Game 3 (L, 13-1)

The Warriors would go into game 3, hoping to avoid the sweep, but to no avail as Hendrix would fall 13-1.

Hendrix would be unable to repeat the earlier trend of scoring in the first, as Centre would score the first 13 runs of the game across 3 innings. The Warriors would finally cross home plate thanks to a score by Paizley Vaught on a passed ball.

Emma Salis was the pitcher of record, going 1 full and surrendering 8 runs. Sadie Lewis would enter in for damage control going 3 innings surrounding 5 runs.
