Marriott's Walk Off Secures Series Sweep Over Millsaps

Conway, Ark. - Hendrix did the Saturday double over Millsaps on Saturday afternoon to secure their second-consecutive sweep in the Southern Athletic Association (SAA) and remain undefeated in conference play.

Game 2 [W, 11-1 (7)]
The Warriors scored two runs apiece in the 2nd and 3rd innings to take a 4-0 lead. Millsaps got on the board in the 5th, but that would be the only run that Hendrix would surrender to the visitors in Game 2.

Zach Marriott's triple in the 6th scored Shaun Pope to up Hendrix's lead to 5-1.

Hogan Ralston drew a lead-off walk in the 7th. Drake Job was then hit by a pitch, and Owen Shaw followed that with another walk to load the bases. Austin Rabago then drove in Ralston and Job with a double to tack on two more runs.

Joseph Watts kept the merry-go-round going with a one-out single to score Shaw and Rabago.

With bases loaded once again after a couple of free passes, Adam Bland recorded an RBI hit-by-pitch to take Hendrix's lead up to nine.

Hogan Ralston then drew a walk-off RBI walk to bring the mercy rule into effect and secure the series win.

Aiden Leggett (W, 2-0) toed the rubber for the Warriors in Game 2 and was more than up to the task. The reigning SAA Pitcher of the Week shut down the Majors' offense, limiting them to just one run on four hits while striking out five in 5.2 IP of work.

Game 3 [W, 9-8 (9)]
Millsaps got on the board early in the 1st, but Hendrix responded with four unanswered runs across the 1st and 2nd innings to take a 4-1 lead.

The Majors would respond with a three-run 3rd to tie the game before Zylan Brown scored on a wild pitch to retake the lead for the home side.

Millsaps then scratched across three more runs in the 4th to take a 7-5 lead, but once again Hendrix responded immediately with a three-run 4th of their own as Job and Alex Musel both recorded RBI singles.

The Majors scored the tying run in the 5th to make it 7-7, and the tie would not be broken until extra innings, with Marriott scoring Riley McMurren on a one-out sacrifice fly to left field in the 9th to score the winning run and secure the weekend sweep.

Ryan Torres (W, 1-1) was the pitcher of record after entering in the 9th and retiring the side. The bullpen was instrumental in the Warriors' win, only surrendering one run on three hits in 5.0 IP. JD Nichols, who gave way to Torres after 1.1 IP, retired all four hitters he faced with three flyouts and a groundout.
