Georgetown, Texas - Hendrix dropped its neutral site contest with the United States Merchant Military Academy (USMMA) on Saturday afternoon at Varsity Field on the campus of Southwestern University.
Bennett Davidson's goal at 5:37 in the first quarter evened the scoring at 1-1, before USMMA exploded to go on a 9-0 scoring run to take a commanding 10-1 lead.
The Warriors scored four unanswered goals to start the fourth quarter courtesy of two goals apiece from
Nick Quarles and Klaus Rown.
USMMA would net two more goals to go up 12-5 with under three minutes to play.
Maximus LaMendola scored two consolation goals in the final minute of regulation, but that was all that Hendrix could muster in the final minutes.
LaMendola led the Warriors with three points on two goals and an assist.
Michael DeCaro was 11-23 on face-offs.
As a team, Hendrix put 15 of 31 shots on frame. Defensively, they caused 9 USMMA turnovers and scooped up 9 ground-balls.
Jake Nelson recorded a game-high five caused turnovers.
Ian Domeika recorded 16 saves on 28 shots put on net by USMMA.
The loss is Hendrix's first in their last five contests, and they will look to rebound on Monday night when they take on the Southwestern Pirates.
