Danville, Ky. - Hendrix looked to rebound off of Friday's 18-6 loss to Sewanee and split their Southern Athletic Association (SAA) weekend road trip with a win over Centre, but could not overcome a slow finish to the first half in a 19-10 loss to the Colonels.
The two sides traded goals in the first period with the score even at four apiece after fifteen minutes played.
After giving up a goal in the opening minute, the Warriors roared back with three unanswered goals.
Maximus LaMendola got Hendrix on the board at the 12:06 mark, and
Klaus Rowan netted two back-to-back in the span of three minutes for a 3-1 lead.
Centre responded with a 3-0 scoring run of their own before LaMendola capped the opening period with his second goal of the contest.
However, the Warriors were held scoreless in the second period while surrendering seven unanswered to the Colonels.
Nick Quarles opened the scoring in the second half, and LaMenodola added another to trim the home side's lead to six.
Bennett Davidson scored two in quick succession to keep the score close heading into the fourth quarter, and Quarles added two more in the final period, but that was where the scoring stopped for the away side.
Michael DeCaro was 14-31 on face-offs and recorded eight ground balls.
Ian Domeika recorded nine saves in net.
LaMendola led the Warriors with a game-high seven points on three goals and four assists.
Up Next: Hendrix (5-8, 1-4 SAA) will wrap up the regular season next Sunday versus Rhodes in Memphis. They currently six sixth in the SAA standings heading into the final weekend of league play.
