Belton, Texas - Hendrix won its matches against the University of St. Thomas and the University of Dallas on Saturday to end the Crusader Classic on a high note.
St. Thomas (W, 3-2)
Hendrix opened up the 2024 season with a 3-0 loss to the Celts, but got revenge on Saturday with a five-set victory.
Ana Bastos and
Camryn Kennedy combined for 32 kills, while
Adilynn Henry and
Lily Meyer combined for 50 assists.
After winning the first set, the Warriors dropped the next two sets to St. Thomas, but rebounded to take the fourth set 25-20. In the all-important fifth set, Hendrix blew the doors wide open and exploded to a 15-5 victory.
Dallas (W, 3-2)
Hendrix rounded out the Crusader Classic with a five-set victory over the University of Dallas. It was the first meeting between the two schools this season.
Dallas took the first set 25-19, but the Warriors responded to take the next two sets. However, the Crusaders clinched the fourth set to take the match the full distance.
And, as they did in their previous match, Hendrix was up to the challenge, taking the fifth set 15-9 to win the match and improve to 6-5 on the season.
Perri Evans led the Warriors with 11 kills.
Camryn Kennedy and
Ana Bastos each had 10 kills.
Catalina Williams tallied 9 kills.
Adilynn Hendry had 25 assists. Bastos and
Riley Brady each had 3 blocks.
