Conway, Ark. - Hendrix suffered its third defeat in league play with a 2-0 loss to McMurry on Sunday afternoon at Warrior Soccer Field.
McMurry tallied 28 shots on the day, with 10 of those efforts on frame. Meanwhile, Hendrix managed just 3 shots and were unable to threaten the Warhawks goal.
The Warriors were able to keep the match scoreless for most of the first half until McMurry finally found the breakthrough with seven minutes remaining in the half. Offensively, Hendrix struggled to get into a rhythm for most of the match, with most of the play occurring in their own half. Despite not seeing a lot of the ball, the Warriors were able to limit McMurry to only a handful of significant chances.
Kennedy Lewis made eight stops in the match, with a couple of fine saves to keep the match close.
Hendrix held tough until the 80th minute when the Warhawks doubled their advantage after a scramble inside the six-yard box that was eventually poked home for the game's second goal.
The Warriors ramped up the intensity in the final ten minutes in search for a goal, but ultimately their comeback efforts came up short.
The loss drops Hendrix to 4-6-2 and 2-3 in the SCAC. They currently sit seventh in the league standings with six points, and will head south next weekend for a pair of road matches versus St. Thomas and Centenary.
