Conway, Ark. - Hendrix put a bow on the 2025 season with a 2-1 win over the University of the Ozarks on Saturday evening at Warrior Soccer Field.
The Warriors celebrated Senior Night before the game, and
Jensen Pechar fittingly marked the occasion with a goal just over two minutes in the second half. After
Adam Tibary's initial effort clanged off the crossbar, Pechar was on hand to stroke a first-time effort into an empty net to give Hendrix the lead.
Tripp Ortega doubled the Warriors' lead late in the half with an outside-the-box effort after receiving a squared pass from
Vaibhav Thikkavarapu at the top of the box.
Ozarks scored with just over a minute to play but it was too little, too late as Hendrix thwarted the Eagles' comeback attempt to secure another vital three points.
Hendrix outshot the visitors 23-9 over the course of the 90 minutes, but were only able to put five of those shots on frame.
Gregorio Medina Armas made three saves on the night.
With the win, Hendrix jumps Austin College into fourth in the league table. They end the year 7-3-1 in the league, a remarkable record in the first year back in the SCAC. The SCAC tournament kicks off next Thursday in Round Rock, Texas, with the Warriors' first-round opponent yet to be decided.
