FB | Warriors Roll in Season Finale on Championship Weekend

Little Rock, Ark. - Hendrix closed the 2025 season on a high note with a 55-28 win over Lyon College on Saturday afternoon at the SCAC Championship Weekend at War Memorial Stadium.

Jake Blice tossed a career-high 5 touchdowns, and Auvic White rushed for 116 yards and two scores as Hendrix cruised past their in-state rivals to clinch the program's first winning season since the 2021 spring COVID-shortened season.

Lyon received the opening kickoff and drove deep into Hendrix territory before Ryan Maxwell picked Lyon's Grayson Johnson on a throwback screen on 3rd and 6 to ensure that the Scots came away empty-handed. Blice then led the Warriors down to the Lyon 19-yard line, and hit Amare Foreman on a slip out of the backfield with Foreman doing the rest on a catch-and-score to put up the game's first points.

The Warriors then caught Lyon with a surprise onside kick on the ensuing kickoff, gaining possession back after perfect execution of a bloop surprise kick by Clay Brandenberg and Kobey Wall. Hendrix turned the ball over on downs, unable to take advantage of the successful onside kick, but the Warriors forced Lyon into a three-and-out, and promptly took advantage as Blice found a wide-open Westin Bruce from 33 yards out for Hendrix's second touchdown of the day. Blice and Bruce were at it again on the next drive with the two hooking up on a 25-yard score to put the Warriors up by three scores.

Lyon finally got on the board with their first full possession of the second quarter, but Hendrix immediately responded with a massive kick return by Wall to set his team up with great field position. Hendrix got the ball down to the 3-yard line with goal to go, and Auvic White punched in his first of two scores to restore Hendrix's 20-point lead. Lyon answered back with another touchdown on their next drive to make it 27-14, and that was the score going into halftime after neither team was able to tack on another score late in the half.

The Warriors drove into the red area on their opening drive of the second half but came up empty as Westin Bruce coughed up the football at the Lyon 15. But three plays later, Jayvian Coulter forced the Scots into a fumble with Ryan Maxwell falling on the loose ball. The Warriors took advantage of the short field, with White once again scoring from close range, this time from two yards out to put Hendrix up 34-14.

Touchdown receptions for Brooks McGee and Jaedin Kim and a late rushing touchdown from Hunter Ladd rounded out the scoring for Hendrix to cap off a big day for Hendrix in the capital city.

The Warriors' defense held Lyon to under 100 yards rushing and 345 yards of total offense while totaling 488 yards of total offense. Hendrix also got off the field on 11 of 14 third downs and allowed only one fourth down conversion on four attempts. Brooks Etheridge, Chandler Laurent, and Coulter each recorded a sack, while Dentravious Woods and Ryan Maxwell each recorded two pass break-ups. Woods and Maxwell recovered fumbles as well and combined for 19 tackles on the afternoon.

Hendrix ends the 2025 season 6-4 and 4-2 in their first season in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
