WBB | Hendrix Can't Keep Pace with Scots

Conway, Ark. - Hendrix was unable to complete the season sweep over Lyon on Tuesday night as the Scots rode a strong offensive performance to an 80-74 win at Grove Gymnasium.

Lyon shot 40.0% from the field and 10-of-24 from behind the arc, knocking down four three-pointers in both the first quarter and the fourth quarter. Meanwhile, Hendrix struggled mightily from deep, converting on just 10 of their 42 long ball attempts and shooting just 27.5% on 91 attempts.

Hendrix was slow out of the gates as the visitors raced out to 17-8 lead late in the quarter. The Scots ended the first quarter up 21-16 and led by as many as nine in the second quarter. Olivia Kestner's layup with just under ten seconds remaining in the half cut the lead back down to five heading into halftime. The second period was the lowest-scoring quarter for the Scots as they were limited to just 13 points in that ten-minute spell.

Lyon scored 22 points in the third quarter and 24 in the fourth quarter, while the Warriors scored a majority of their second-half points in the latter stages of the final period. Lyon led by as many as 16 in the fourth, but a late run by Hendrix cut the deficit down to just four with three seconds remaining, though it was too little, too late in the end for the hosts.

Brooklyn Rowe led the Warriors with a season-high 18 points, knocking down four triples. Chloey-Rei Brown finished with 12 points and 8 boards, and Brailey Forst collected another double-double with 11 and 13. Natalie Edmonson also finished in double-figures in rebounds with 10, while Lyndi Bryan scored a career-high 11 points with three three-pointers.

The Warriors (1-2) will now enjoy a lengthy rest before returning to action on December 1 with an exhibition against cross-town rival Central Arkansas.
