Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse |

Men's Lacrosse Drops Two at Music City Classic

Nashville, Tenn. - Hendrix's men's lacrosse program traveled to Nashville this past weekend to take part in the Music City Classic. The Warrior squared off with the Illinois Institute of Technology and Piedmont University and lost both contests.

IIT (L, 10-6)
Hendrix played its closest contest to date versus the Scarlet Hawks on Saturday. The Warriors started out hot with two unassisted goals by Klaus Rowan to take a 2-0 lead in the opening three minutes. The rest of the first quarter would be goalless. Matthew Parsons opened up his 2025 account early in the second quarter to put the Warriors up by three, but IIT would respond with three unanswered goals to level the affair. With 3:13 remaining in the half and with a man advantage, Austin Williams gave Hendrix the lead once again with an assist from Nick Quarles. IIT scored a minute later to send the two sides into halftime level.

Williams netted his second goal of the game five minutes into the second half to put Hendrix back on top, but from there it would all go downhill as IIT scored six unanswered goals across the third and fourth quarters to take a 10-5 lead. Jack Conley scored a consolation goal with 00:13 remaining in the match.

Michael DeCaro went 10-19 in the circle on faceoffs, while Ian Domeika saved 10 shots on goal en route to the losing decision.

Piedmont (L, 16-5)
The Warriors were unable to start in the same manner as they did on Saturday, surrendering 10 goals to the Lions in the first half while only getting a goal each from Bennett Davidson and Austin Williams.

Davidson was back on the scoresheet early in the second half to reduce the Piedmont lead to 11-3, but the Lions then went on a 5-0 scoring run before Hendrix was able to respond. Joe Digerness and Matthew Santoro both scored late to give Hendrix 5 goals on the evening.

DeCaro was 11-of-21 on faceoffs, and Domeika made 15 saves.
