Louisville, Ky. - Hendrix defeated Spalding 27-1 on Saturday morning in one of the program's larger wins in recent memory.
The Warriors rode into the Derby City on the back of a four-game losing streak to begin the year and appeared to take out all their frustration on the Golden Eagles.
Jordan Drumheller's squad scored early and often, with
Zachary Cox and
Bennett Davidson netting a goal apice in the opening three minutes. Hendrix took a 6-0 lead into the second quarter and added four more in the second frame for a commanding 10-0 lead at halftime.
The Orange and Black jumped all over Spalding in the second half, scoring 15 goals before Spalding found the net for their lone goal of the game.
Klaus Rowan led Hendrix with 13 points on 7 goals and 6 assists. Davidson recorded a career-high 7 points on 6 goals and an assist, while
Austin Williams and
Jack Conley each scored 4 goals.
Ian Domeika recorded just three saves on what was a comfortable afternoon for the senior goalkeeper as he secured his first win in goal for the 2025 season. Kellen Harger entered in relief of Domeika and made 5 saves.
Michael DeCaro went an impressive 19-for-24 in the faceoff circle, while
Gavin Suddendorf won 5 of his 7 faceoffs.
Hendrix (1-4, 0-1 SAA) returns to Conway for its 2025 home opener on Sunday, March 2 at Young-Wise Memorial Stadium.
