Men's Lacrosse Edges Huntingdon in Home Opener

Conway, Ark. - Hendrix's men's lacrosse program defeated Huntingdon (Ala.) 11-8 on Sunday afternoon at Young-Wise Memorial Stadium.

The Warriors had started the 2025 season with five consecutive games on the road before finally getting to open their home account this weekend against the Hawks.

Joe Digerness got the scoring started under three minutes into the opening period with an assist from Zachary Cox. The Hawks then scored three unanswered to take a 3-1 lead into the second quarter.

Bennett Davidson and Matthew Santoro both netted goals in the opening five minutes of the second period to tie the contest at 3-3. Both teams were unable to break the deadlock before the halftime interval.

Huntingdon broke the tie with just under five minutes left in the third period, but Cox took advantage of a man-up opportunity to find the equalizer with a little under one minute remaining in the quarter for his first goal of the game. Cox was back at it again early in the fourth quarter, scoring twice in the opening five minutes of the final period to give Hendrix its largest lead of the afternoon. After Huntingdon made it a 6-5 game, Santoro scored his second goal of the match while Hendrix was playing a man down. Conley scored his fourth goal at the 7:36 mark to put Hendrix up 8-6.

The Hawks scored twice in under two minutes to tie the match at 8-8, but a brace from Austin Williams and a late goal from Joseph Davis gave Hendrix enough breathing room to see out the win.

Ian Domeika made 12 saves on the afternoon en route to his second winning decision in the net. Michael DeCaro went 13-22 on faceoffs.

The win improves Hendrix to 2-4. They will get a week off before heading to Memphis on March 12 for a neutral site contest versus Haverford, hosted by Rhodes.
