Sewanee, TN- The Warriors season came to a close Sunday afternoon in a 83-95 loss to the Sewanee Tigers.
The first half resembled a classic boxing match that your grandpa would sit and watch back in the day, as the two teams would trade baskets back -and-forth the entire half. The largest lead in that first half was 7 by the Tigers, but the Warriors would not stay down long. The Warriors would take a 41-40 lead with 5 seconds left in the half thanks to a jumper and one from Jaxon Herrera, but Sewanee would nail a 3 to end the half to go up by two.
The Warriors would start off slow in the beginning of the 2nd half and fall to 16 at one point, before Herrera would bring the Warriors back to within 8. The two sides would continue to trade baskets, as a Beau Kronenberger 3 would bring the Warriors to within 3 with 8:17 left to go.
Unfortunately, that would be the as close as the Warriors could get as Sewanee put it away down the stretch.
Jaxon Herrera led the Warriors with 18 points. Caleb Squires had 15 points, his highest this season. Tyler Deithloff ended with last game with 12 points & adding 11 rebounds. Beau Kronenberger, Colten Berry, Sky Tschurr & Carson Bower all ended with 9 points.
The Warriors ended the 2024-25 season 2-24 (0-12).
