Danville, KY- In a hard-fought contest, the Warriors saw their season come to an end with a 67-76 loss to the Centre Colonels in the SAA Quarterfinals.
The game began with the Warriors setting the tone early, scoring the first points of the contest and holding a 17-12 lead in the first quarter. However, the Colonels responded with a strong run to close out the period, taking a 23-19 lead into the second.
The second quarter proved challenging for the Warriors, as they managed only 7 points, heading into halftime trailing 26-51.
While most would lose hope at this point, Coach Wes Sullivan's squad did what they have done best this season, fight. The Warriors looked to close the gap in the second half, outscoring the Colonels 41-25. With 3:30 remaining, Riley Brady's pair of clutch free throws would bring the Warriors within 6, but the Colonels held their ground, maintaining their lead to secure the win.
Ava Knoedl led the Warriors with 19 points, while Riley Brady contributed 13 points and 9 rebounds. Natalie Edmonson also added 13 points, and Brailey Forst finished with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
Though their season ends with a 9-17 overall record (2-10), Hendrix wraps up its year with its highest win total since the 2018-19 season.
