Danville, Ky. - Hendrix opened up conference play in the Southern Athletic Association on Saturday with a 15-4 loss to the Centre Colonels.
Centre scored five goals to open the game before
Peyton Refling got the Warriors on the scoreboard early in the second inning with an unassisted goal. The Colonels poured in five more goals in the second quarter to take a 10-1 lead into halftime. The mercy rule was brought into effect early in the third quarter after Centre scored three minutes into the second half.
Refling added a second goal a third of the way through the fourth quarter with an assist from
Samantha Shrader.
Kasha Graham gave the Warriors a third goal late in the game on a free-position shot, and Refling secured a hat trick at the horn after netting her third goal as time expired.
Addey Bolz made eleven saves on the day and suffered just her third losing decision in the cage.
Hendrix will remain in Kentucky as they head to Louisville tomorrow to face off with Spalding in the Warriors' final nonconference contest of the season.
