Conway, Ark. - Hendrix breezed through a two-game homestand versus Anderson (Ind.) and Missouri Valley (MVC) to improve to 5-2 on the year. It is the best start through seven games in program history.
Anderson (W, 12-3)
Hendrix doubled up Anderson 4-2 in the first quarter with two goals apiece from
Peyton Refling and
Celina Owens-Campbell.
The Ravens scored early in the second quarter to cut Hendrix's lead to one before the Warriors closed the half with three unanswered goals to take a 7-3 lead into halftime. Goals from Refling,
Rayne Thone, and a
Kinley Robinson brace in the third quarter put the game out of reach of Anderson, and Refling added one more for good measure with 6:17 left in regulation for her fourth goal of the contest.
Addey Bolz recorded eight saves in the winning effort to earn her fourth winning decision in the net this season.
Missouri Valley (W, 16-3)
Hendrix dominated MVC from the start and poured in ten first half goals before the first half clock expired to put the mercy rule into effect. Six of those goals were from Refling, her best first-half total to date. MVC scored two goals in the third quarter to Hendrix's three, but the Warriors outscored MVC 3-1 in the final period to earn their largest win of the young season.
Refling led all scorers with eight points on seven goals and an assist. Owens-Campbell, Robinson, and
Eliza Thacker each had two goals.
Bolz kept a first-half clean sheet in her thirty minutes of action and made four saves to earn her fifth win of the season in goal.
Olivia Garcia entered in relief of Bolz in the second half and recorded a save.
