Conway, Ark. - Hendrix was defeated 19-4 by Sewanee on Saturday at Young-Wise Memorial Stadium. The day was highlighted by the Senior Day festivities in which the women's lacrosse program celebrated its five graduating members --
Celina Owens-Campbell,
Peyton Refling,
Kinley Robinson,
Sophia Smith, and
Rayne Thone.
The honorees were well-represented on the scoresheet with Robinson notching a brace and
Peyton Refling netting a goal of her own.
Eliza Thacker scored the Warriors' second goal of the match with just under four minutes remaining in the first half on a free-position attempt.
Robinson's second goal -- the final of the day for the Warriors -- came early in the second half to cut the Tigers' lead to 12-4.
Addey Bolz made 12 saves in the cage.
Sophia Smith and
Lilian King led the Warriors with two caused turnovers each, with Smith, Refling, and
Samantha Shrader each scooping up two ground balls.
The Warriors drop to 7-6 (0-4 SAA), and will wrap up the regular season next weekend at Young-Wise Memorial Stadium versus Oglethorpe.
