Dickson, Tenn.- Looking to build momentum after yesterday's round, the Warriors hit the links for Round Two of the SAA Championships. The men had some struggles replicating the results from yesterday, with William Baker and Oliver Naumann falling several spots.
The women had a massive bounce back round, with all of them moving up the board.
Baker, looking to replicate his performance from Round One, birdied his second hole but double bogeyed Hole 7 & 9 to fall +4 after his front nine. Baker pared his first four holes on the back nine, before knocking down two birdies to bring his score to +2.
Naumann, looking to rise up the leaderboard, pared his first six holes, but then bogeyed back to back holes. Naumann wouldn't let that deter him, as he would sink the only Eagle of the day to bring his score back to E. The back nine gave fits to Naumann, as he would bogey three times to end the round at +3.
Lail Shaw was the one of two Warriors to move up the leaderboard today. Shaw had two birdies on his front nine to put him +3, and would sink another one on the back nine to put him +6 on the day.
George Murray was the other Warrior to move up the leaderboard, after doubling on the first hole, Murray would birdie twice in the front nine to put him +2. Murray would birdie once on the back nine and end the day +4.
Michael Young found himself in trouble early on but would knock down two birdies to close out the front nine. Young would birdie one more time to end the day at +7.
Deqlyn Buttrey fought back after a tough round one, knocking in a birdie once in the first two holes and then again in the back nine to bring his score +8.
For the women, all three showed massive improvement, with all three moving up the leaderboard.
Ava Reyes had herself a career day, moving up ten spots and hitting a career best +8 to end the day. Reyes struggled with the first four holes on the back nine, until finally knocking down a birdie on Hole 14. Reyes would struggle with her first two holes, but would hit two birdies to end the day +8.
Amber Alsup had a great bounce back today, moving up 8 spots. Alsup started the round in not an ideal fashion, but would birdie and then par the next two holes following. The back nine would present challenges, but Alsup would answer with a birdie and several pars to set herself up in great position to end the day. Alsup would unfortunately double the last hole, ending her day +10.
Gianna Miceli had a solid day, moving up one spot on the leaderboard. Miceli would par three holes on the front nine and then add 4 more pars on the back nine to end the day +16.
