Sewanee, Tenn. - After securing a doubleheader sweep on Saturday to clinch their weekend series, Hendrix fell 9-1 in a six-inning shortened contest to Sewanee on Sunday afternoon in Tennessee.
Emmaline Trosclair (L, 0-6) allowed six runs on six hits and six walks.
Emma Salis gave up three runs on four hits, including the walk-off run in the sixth.
Hendrix scored the tying run in the fifth inning off a
Betty Wolfe one-out solo shot before Sewanee tacked on two more in the home half of the inning to take a 3-1 lead. The Tigers added six more in the sixth to end the game early.
At the plate, Wolfe and
Peyton Frady led the Warriors with two hits apiece.
Kaycee Schoen and Trosclair each recorded a base knock.
Despite the Game 3 loss, Hendrix grabbed their second weekend series in conference play thanks to Saturday's doubleheader sweep, and they will return to Conway to host Millsaps in their final regular season series before conference tournament play begins.
